Government agencies often feel caught in the middle of a tug-of-war. On one side are constituents demanding expanded services, including 24x7 web-access to government records and other information. On the other side are constituents, often the same ones, demanding that government spend a bare minimum of tax dollars on anything, including IT infrastructure.

For example, one of our clients needed to upgrade its open system environment which encompassed a collection of 49 older UNIX® systems. We consolidated their workload onto two large UNIX servers, lowering overall costs and improving manageability.
For another customer, we were able to demonstrate in our lab that an alternative storage system provided the capabilities the agency needed at a lower cost. The lab demo convinced the agency IT staff that a lower-cost solution provided the administrative features they needed.
