LRS has been named to the 2020 CRN Solution Provider 500 list. In fact, we’re number 98!
This is the list of the top 500 VARs, integrators, service providers, and IT consultants in North America by revenue. As CRN noted in announcing the list, solution providers are being tested in 2020 as never before.
The year began with a robust IT business climate, and Gartner was forecasting that the good times would continue with worldwide IT spending to grow 3.4 percent to $3.9 trillion. When the COVID-19 pandemic took hold worldwide, the economy ground to a halt.
But as CRN points out, the companies on the Solution Provider 500 list rose to the occasion.
For LRS IT Solutions, rising to the occasion has mostly meant business as usual. Our support and services staff is often able to work remotely with our customers, so when the company eliminated non-essential business travel and closed offices and told employees to work from home, we just kept working.
One incident that tested our staff involved a customer who needed to stand up an IBM POWER9 system with IBM Storwize external storage in two data centers a thousand miles apart. The customer couldn’t wait until travel restrictions were eased, so our Power and storage support teams used Webex meetings and cell phone calls to walk the customer through the steps involved in physically racking and cabling the hardware. Once the hardware was configured on the network, our staff completed the configuration remotely.
Maybe that’s rising to the occasion. We think of it as meeting the customer’s needs.
